The Story of Saké

Sake Bottle <とっくり> . 2019

A blessed place where new inspiring works are created and hopefully a gathering site to share and build the fellowship of Art as a part of life.

The story of Saké – Like a masterpiece, there’s an art to appreciating a good cup of saké. Saké, the mystical beverage that originated in Japan approximately 2000 years ago during the Nara period. This wonderous art is carried out by master brewers known as Tōji (杜氏) with the use of one common staple: rice. Through a complex fermentation process achieves flavour, aroma and taste that’s unimaginable to one’s palate – like a piece of art that is bought to life. As a lover for novelties in life, I seek the same ideology: creating wonders in my art and enjoying the occasional company of a good cup of saké.
